Welcome to the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Kyung Hee University in Korea! With our beginning as the Department of Oriental Medical System Engineering in 1998, the Department of Biomedical Engineering has pursued our bold objective: educate and produce biomedical engineers with creative minds who will lead and challenge the field of biomedical engineering, moreover contribute to better healthcare and human welfare.

The Department of Biomedical Engineering in the College of Electronics and Information at Kyung Hee University has an excellent environment for outstanding education and research. The Department hosts nine internationally-known faculty members, more than 160 undergraduate students and 50 graduate students. The Department collaborates with the School of Medicine, the School of Oriental Medicine, the School of Dentistry, the School of Engineering, the School of Life Sciences, the Graduate School of East-West Medical Sciences, and etc. So far, the Department has hosted two national research centers: namely the Engineering Research Center and the Functional and Metabolic Imaging Center, proving its excellence in academic research. There is no doubt that biomedical engineering is the core of the future technology and the most promising discipline of the future. Especially in the era of technology fusion in the 21st century, the role of biomedical engineering is clearer ever since it integrates various fields such as medical and life sciences, physics, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, information science, computer sciences, and many more.
