PRE-ADMISSIONS TO A MASTER’S DEGREE PROGRAM

Schedule
The first semester application in November; the second semester application in May (This schedule can change slightly.)
For the specific schedules of the distribution and the receipt of the application package, interview/oral/practical exams, the notice of admission decision, and the registration of the admitted, please refer to the application guide and the official announcement.
Eligibility
Master’s degree program and Integrated Master’s and Ph.D. degree program
a. Someone who has already received (or expects to receive by the day of admission) a Bachelor’s degree from a
    4-year college or university either in Korea or overseas
b. Someone whose educational attainments are authorized by the Law to be equal to or higher than No. 1
Ph.D. degree program
a. Someone who has already received (or expects to receive by the day of admission)
    a Master’s degree from an authorized graduate schools either in Korea or overseas
b. Someone whose educational attainments are authorized by the Law to be equal to or higher than No. 1
Screening process
Document screening and (oral) interview
Since interview and practical exam will be held by each department in the Seoul and the Suwon campuses, please double check the place of exam when you submit your application package.
Documents to be submitted
  • a. One "Application for Admissions” form (with two photos of the passport photo size)
  • b. One official copy of the certificate of (expected) graduation (with the registered degree number on it)
  • c. One official transcript for each undergraduate and graduate program (including the percentage of GPA)
  • d. Certificates of employment/work experience/career/other credentials (if applicable), official TOEFL/TOEIC score
        reports (if applicable) e. One copy of resume (for Ph.D. degree program applicants)
  • f. One copy of study (or research) plan (in KHU form)
  • g. Research student program or non-quorum students (international students) must submit a letter of reference
        (in KHU form) from a professor.
  • h. In case of a joint program with a research institute, the applicants must submit a letter of reference from the
        institute.
Some application documents need KHU forms, which can be downloaded from the graduate program homepage.
If the certificates of (expected) graduation and the transcripts are written in other languages than English, please submit their officially authenticated Korean translations in addition to the original documents.
Ph.D. program applicants must submit their transcripts for both the undergraduate and graduate programs. (Those who have graduated (or will graduate) from these departments of medical science, oriental medicine, and dental science must submit the transcripts for both premed and regular courses.)
Common to all applicants: Applicants who have work experience in educational, governmental, and/or research institutes, who have passed state examinations, who have wined prizes in arts and sciences, and who have excellence in research can submit documentary evidence to the department for consideration when they take an interview (oral) test.
Attention
Non-attendance at the interview and the practical test will result in disqualification. Applicants must take the admission certificate for exam with them on the day of interview.
Applicants can be disqualified, even after their admission has been granted, if any fraud in their application materials or any quality against the university regulations is found.
Applicants who are rejected from an integrated Master’s and Ph.D. degree program can apply to a Master’s degree program, if they want, and follow another application procedure.
Application packages sent via ground mail must arrive by 5 pm of the closing day to be considered valid. Please make sure if your application package is received.
Application documents are not returned at all.
