PRE-ADMISSIONS TO A MASTER’S DEGREE PROGRAM

Schedule
Apply to the second semester application procedure (in May) to get the admissions to the first semester of the next year. (This schedule can change slightly.)
For the specific schedules of the distribution and the receipt of the application package,
interview/oral/practical exams, the notice of admission decision, and the registration of the admitted,
please refer to the application guide and the official announcement.
Eligibility
Someone who is currently enrolled in the fourth year at a domestic or overseas college or university and expects graduation in February of the following year.
Eligible applicants have their 3-year GPA over B-. (GPA of the first semester in the fourth year below B- will result in disqualification.)
Screening process
  • a. Document screening and (oral) interview
  • b. Since interview and practical exam will be held by each Department in the Seoul and the Suwon campuses, please
        double check the place of exam when you submit your application package.
Documents to be submitted
  • a. One "Application for Admissions” form (with two photos of the passport photo size)
  • b. One official transcript for the first three years including the percentage of GPA
        (Applicants must submit the transcript for the first semester of the fourth year with the percentage of GPA on it to
        the department or the graduate school by September of the year, or they will fail on the final list of the accepted
        candidates in November.)
  • c. One official copy of the certificate of enrollment
  • d. Letters of reference from the professors of the undergraduate program at which the applicants are enrolled or
        from professors of the graduate program to which they apply
  • e. One copy of study (or research) plan
  • f. Other documents or materials that the Dean of Graduate School requires
Some application documents need KHU forms, which can be downloaded from the graduate program homepage.
If the certificates of (expected) graduation and the transcripts are written in other languages than English, please submit their officially authenticated Korean translations in addition to the original documents.
Common to all applicants: Applicants who have work experience in educational, governmental, and/or research institutes, who have passed state examinations, who have wined prizes in arts and sciences, and who have excellence in research can submit documentary evidence to the department for consideration when they take an interview (oral) test.
Attention
  • a. Non-attendance at the interview and the practical test will result in disqualification. Applicants must take the
        admission certificate for exam with them on the day of interview.
  • b. Applicants can be disqualified, even after their admission has been granted, if any fraud in their application
        materials or any quality against the university regulations is found.
  • c. Accepted applicants can register with the new students to the first semester in the following year.
        Information on registration will be announced.
  • d. Application packages sent via ground mail must arrive by 5 pm of the closing day to be considered valid.
      Please make sure if your application package is received. (Enclose the application fee in a postal order.)
  • e. Application documents are not returned at all.
