COURSES
- Class registration
- Students by themselves must input and register classes at the university webpage (KHU homepage) within the specified period of time. - Changes in the list of classes registered can be made within the period specified by the Dean of the Graduate School. After this period, no change can be made.
- Application for the open presentation of thesis
- a. Since students who want to submit their theses must pass the open presentation in the early semester, they need to register “thesis research 3” during the class registration period. b. Students and ABD (All-But-Dissertation) students who want to take the thesis credits and submit their theses during the semester must submit the open presentation applications to the graduate school and the department and inform the KHUGNEWS or the Daehak Jubo of their presentation schedule (within the presentation period specified by the department based on the academic schedule) before they present their theses. c. After the open presentation, the presenters will receive thesis credits (graded as “pass” or “fail”) from their advisors. ※ Submission of the review results of the preliminary plan for thesis: During the previous semester of the presentation, students must submit the review results of their preliminary plans for theses to the graduate school. (Please refer to the academic guides for each major and cohort.)

- In a general graduate school, those students who have graduated from a program of a similar or different major must take credits for the courses of a lower level, in addition to the regular coursework.
- For the Master’s degree program: 9 credits or more

From a different field: 12 credits or more- Students can be exempt from some or the total credits for the lower-level courses upon the approval by a professor and then the Dean of the Graduate School.

- a. Detailed enforcement regulations for credit transfer between graduate programs
Article 1. (Purpose)
The detailed enforcement regulations aim to determine the particulars and the procedures for credit transfer between graduate programs based on the regulations of KHU graduate schools and the graduate schools of other related universities.
Article 2. (Eligibility)
- ① Students who are enrolled at one of the two graduate programs can take the courses, which both the
graduate
programs approve for credit transfer, in the other university and transfer the credits to their university. - ② In case of the departments that do not participate in the credit transfer system between graduate programs,
students can still take the courses of other departments as elective courses.
Article 3. (Credits transferred)
Credits transferred from the courses taken at a graduate program of another university cannot exceed 9 credits for the Master’s degree program and the Ph.D. degree program, 18 credits for the integrated degrees program, and 6 credits per semester.
Article 4. (Courses for credit transfer)
- ① The courses for credit transfer are in principle the courses provided by the professors of the graduate program of the
year. - ② Students cannot take the courses for credit transfer at the graduate programs of another university if the
same courses
are available in their graduate programs.
Article 5. (Class registration)
Class registration of the courses for credit transfer follows these procedures:
- ① Students must consult their advisors of the graduate programs to register the courses for credit transfer.
- ② After having decided on the courses for credit transfer, students must receive two copies of class registration
forms from
their graduate school, write the courses for credit transfer on the forms, get approval from the professor who teaches
the subject, the thesis advisor, and the Department Chair, submit the forms to the graduate school, and get approval by
the Dean of the Graduate School. - ③ If it is necessary to cancel or change the courses for credit transfer, two copies of the cancellation or change
application
forms and a statement of reasons must be submitted to the graduate school within the period for class changes. - ④ After having completed the class registration applications, students can take the courses for credit transfer at
the
graduate program that offers the courses.
Article 6. (Compliance)
When students take the courses for credit transfer at another graduate program, they must comply with the rules of the graduate program. Article 7. (Use of library)
- ① Students who are taking the courses for credit transfer at another graduate program can use the libraries of
the
university. - ② The use of the libraries follows the rules of the university.
